This painting created in the last few years and is a remake and average size. We also know that Marcus was not alive for the debut of the painting because it was painted somewhere in the life of Marcus Gheeraerts which was 1562–1635.

I think this painting is a fine example of emotionalism. It takes full advantage of cool colors giving the painting a very dark feel. It also is a fine example of texture because you feel as if you could reach out and fell the sandy dirt.
